Ryan Reynolds revealed that during the production of Deadpool and Wolverine, there was one line in particular that Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, asked to be removed. Despite the irreverent and often outrageous nature of the Deadpool character, the line in question was considered too risqué even for the standards of the film, so much so that Iger intervened directly. Reynolds acknowledged that Iger’s decision was justified.

In an interview during the Fast Company Innovation Festival, the actor described the situation with his usual joking tone, saying that he initially thought about wanting to keep the line in Deadpool and Wolverine, but then agreed to remove it, realizing that Iger’s request was legitimate. Reynolds didn't reveal the exact content of the cut line, but he did suggest it was a vulgar comment. This episode proves that despite the desire to push boundaries, there's a fine line to walk when working with big franchises like those owned by Disney.

The brand is known for its commitment to maintaining an image that appeals to a wide audience, from kids to adults, and it seems like this line struck a nerve with the company. Despite the request to remove that specific line, Ryan Reynolds' collaboration with Disney wasn't hindered by this episode at all. In fact, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige offered a piece of creative advice that Reynolds found invaluable while filming Deadpool and Wolverine. Feige urged Reynolds to make every scene "great," a seemingly simple suggestion that motivated the actor to push the details and execution of every moment.
