Three years ago, the deadliest game in the streaming world began, and to commemorate the event that changed Netflix forever, the streaming giant has released a video dedicated to the craziest Squid Game fan theories. Special guests include Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung-hun, and Wi Ha-jun, who took the time to read and analyze (though, of course, without spoilers) the most brilliant theories for the second season of the hit South Korean series, coming December 26.
What to Expect in Squid Game Season 2
Three years after winning, player 456 gives up on going to the United States and returns with a new decision in mind. Gi-hun re-enters the mysterious survival game as he begins another deadly challenge with new contestants aiming for the 45.6 billion won prize. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who made history at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards by becoming the first Asian to win Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, is once again at the helm of the series as director, writer, and producer.
Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo reprise their roles from the first season, with an impressive list of new cast members, including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-Geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an, rounding out the new season’s eclectic ensemble.

Squid Game will return to Netflix on December 26, 2024, but it has also been announced that it will continue with a third season, which will arrive in 2025 to conclude this beloved South Korean television series. We will therefore have to wait until the end of December to see the new episodes, but the Netflix series has still found the perfect way to not leave fans high and dry. On Thursday, October 31, the creator, writer, and director Hwang Dong-hyuk and the protagonists Lee Jung-Jae and Wi Ha-Jun will be at Lucca Comics & Games to meet fans and to reveal some new features of the highly anticipated second season of Squid Game, still today the most viewed series on the streaming platform.
