Home Alone star and '90s icon Macaulay Culkin has joined the cast of the second season of Fallout, the Prime Video series produced by Kilter Films, in a recurring role, sources tell Deadline. There has been no official comment on the role the actor will be taking on, but Culkin is said to be playing a "crazy genius" type character. Culkin is already in business with Amazon, most recently voicing a character in the Prime Video animated series The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy. He also had a major role in FX's American Horror Story: Double Feature and had an arc on HBO's The Righteous Gemstones. Joining Fallout is a major new milestone, especially considering the seemingly weighty nature of his character.
What You Need to Know About Fallout
Produced by Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and Graham Wagner, Fallout is based on the video game series from Bethesda Game Studios. The series is set two hundred years after the apocalypse when the kind inhabitants of luxurious fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully strange, and highly violent universe—and some shocking truths.
The first season ended with Lucy discovering her father’s role in the atomic bomb that changed the world forever, as well as that a select few from that time have survived to this horrific present. Joined by the Ghoul, who is searching for her family, the two now head to New Vegas, in search of more answers about what happened in the past. The series stars Ella Purnell as Lucy, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson, Leslie Uggams, Frances Turner, Dave Register, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton, Rodrigo Luzzi, Annabel O’Hagan, and Xelia Mendes-Jones.
Fallout debuted in the Top 3 of Prime Video’s most-watched titles and earned 16 Emmy nominations for its first season, including Outstanding Drama Series. Athena Wickham of Kilter Films also serves as an executive producer for Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks. Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films produce in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.
