Jared Padalecki has confirmed that he will appear in The Boys season 5. Showrunner Eric Kripke’s involvement in both series, along with the involvement of Jensen Ackles, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and other Supernatural stars, had already led to speculation that Padalecki could also appear in the Prime Video series. The Boys season 5 will be the conclusion of the series and is confirmed to feature a more substantial role for Ackles’s Toy Soldier, who was absent for most of season 4.

In a video posted by Fangasm on X (formerly Twitter), Padalecki shared that he will be appearing in The Boys season 5 and hopes to share the screen with Ackles’s Toy Soldier. After Padalecki shared that his boy character is interested in interacting with Soldier Boy, Ackles added “I know Eric Kripke; I don’t think he would pass up that opportunity.” It has not yet been revealed who Padalecki will play in the final season of The Boys. What This Means for The Boys Season 5

Padalecki is now confirmed to be joining the cast of The Boys in season 5. The timing of his announcement coincides with the cast reunion when filming for season 5 begins in late November. While Padalecki could have appeared in spinoffs, as Ackles did in Gen V season 1, this was the last chance to bring Padalecki to the main series. Thankfully, Padalecki and Kripke have ensured that this will happen, with The Boys season 5 set to feature the ultimate Supernatural reunion.

After Homelander (Antony Starr) finds Soldier Boy in cryosleep during the post-credits scene of season 4, Soldier Boy will have a major role in season 5. Both Soldier Boy and Padalecki’s characters could be members of Homelander’s army of supermen. They may have to work together to hunt down Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), and other enemies of Homelander, which could give the two Supernatural actors a reason to share the screen together later in the season.
