The latest trailer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Thunderbolts* has been released. It includes plenty of cool scenes of Bucky. This is a noteworthy work that brings together villains and anti-heroes that have appeared in previous MCU works. The eccentric members are as follows. Yelena: Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff's younger sister, once brainwashed by a Russian spy organization, is an assassin with high combat abilities. Appears in Black Widow and Hawkeye. Red Guardian/Alexei: Natasha and Yelena's father, a Russian super soldier who viewed Captain America as a sworn enemy and rival. Appears in Black Widow.
Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes: A childhood friend of Captain America/Steve Rogers, he was brainwashed and physically modified by an evil organization, and stood in the way of Captain America as an assassin. Appears in the "Captain America" series, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", etc. US Agent/John Walker: Appointed as the second Captain America due to his achievements in the Army, but was driven to the point of failure during a mission by public pressure, and was stripped of his title and authority. Appears in "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier".
Taskmaster/Antonia Drakov: With incredible physical abilities and the ability to copy, he stands in the way of Natasha, Alexei, and others as an assassin who can also use the techniques of Captain America and other Avengers. Appears in "Black Widow". Ghost/Ava: After an accident as a child, she was given a special body like a "ghost" that can pass through any object. Appears in "Ant-Man and the Wasp". All of them are "ruffians" who have committed crimes in the past. This group of extremely unique characters, no less than the Avengers, will open the curtains on a new battle.
The latest trailer has been released, capturing the members of the Thunderbolts, who are not sure what they will do. Elena, John Walker, Red Guardian, and Ghost are being chased by a mysterious enemy. They try to fight back, but they are not united and are already in a state of chaos... Then, like Elena and the others, Bucky Barnes, who has once been in conflict with heroes, appears as a savior. Just when you think he has easily repelled the enemy like in "Terminator," he suddenly points his gun at Elena and the others. Is this already a sign of a conflict?
The next scene is the unveiling of the new owner of Avengers Tower. This huge building, once owned by Tony Stark and used as the setting for the battle in "The Avengers" (2012), has been left unclaimed since it was moved in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" (2017). Fans had thought that Kingpin, Norman Osborn, and the Fantastic Four were likely candidates for the new owner, but it appears that Valentina Allegra De Fontaine (known as Val) has bought it. "It wasn't cheap, but I'm very satisfied," she says proudly as she pours herself a glass of sake. What purpose did she have in purchasing the tower? Where does her wealth come from, which is still a mystery?
The video also gives a glimpse into the conflicts of the villains, who are bound by the evil deeds they committed in the past, such as military operations and murder, and who each carry darkness in their hearts. Will they be able to break away from their past selves and change? Towards the end of the video, we see Bucky asking that question to Elena, risking his life to protect his teammates. With him at the helm, the mismatched group will likely unite and take on the fight. "Thunderbolts*" will be released in theaters during the Golden Week holidays in 2025.
