The Superman & Lois series finale trailer sets up the DC show’s final hour. Despite only having a handful of episodes this year, Superman & Lois season 4 wasted no time in delivering its final hours as the war between Lex Luthor and the Lane-Kent family continued to escalate. The series’ penultimate episode saw the return of Doomsday and wreaked havoc on Smallville, setting up the series finale in a big way. Following the airing of Superman & Lois season 4 episode 9, The CW (via TV Promos) released the first official trailer for the series finale. Titled “It Went By So Fast,” the episode was written by Superman & Lois showrunners Brent Fletcher and Todd Helbing, while longtime series director Gregory Smith directed it. Watch it below:
What the Superman & Lois series finale trailer means for the series
Though brief, the highlight of the Superman & Lois series finale footage is seeing Michael Cudlitz’s Lex Luthor in his battle suit. It looks like the show will give fans perhaps one of the biggest showdowns between the iconic DC villain and the Last Son of Krypton ever seen in live-action. Based on the first trailer alone, it wouldn’t be shocking if Smallville was forever changed by Lex’s chaos. While Superman & Lois season 4 was packed with action and tension, the best was definitely saved for last. From everything we can tell from the Superman & Lois series finale trailer, the Man of Steel will certainly have his work cut out for him, to say the least.
While more footage from the Superman & Lois series finale may be released, the bulk of the episode will be kept under wraps until its debut. With the season four finale reportedly doing something that hasn’t happened in any other Superman adaptation, there’s a lot of excitement surrounding the episode. Only time will tell how the creative team will wrap up the series after four seasons. From everything we can tell from the Superman & Lois finale trailer, the Man of Steel will certainly have his work cut out for him, to say the least.
